Some of the nicest people I've ever met (and a killer audience) were a group of Marines just 12 miles from Syria.

Happy Birthday, Leathernecks!

It was, and will remain a favorite military memory. And it's humbling when one of those guys, dusty from a day in the dirt, tired and looking worn out says to me "Thanks - I really needed that." Talking about making you feel like you actually can make a difference.

Happy birthday to the Marine Corps, and best wishes for all the marines and their families who make such tremendous sacrifices for the rest of us!
