My two are the obvious lemon juice and sugar, and the ever-delicious chocolate spread...
Any weird-but-awesome combos out there?

| | | | my fav. is the "pancake sandwich":
two pancakes, put peanut butter on one, and raspberry jam on the other, then slap some bacon one of the pancakes and sandwich them together. It's bloody awesome. There's also the smoores pancake with marshmallows, chocolate syrup (or nutella) and pancakes of course. A sortof weird one that I really loved though was a crepe with raspberry jam and mozzarella cheese on it. I assume that would be transferrable to pancakes given that crepes are just really really thin pancakes.
I think that shrove tuesday is the BEST holiday EVER. when whoever it was that came up with the idea thought it up, they meant BUSINESS. I mean, it's BREAKFAST for SUPPER. |

| | that video LIES | | Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Northern California | | my new favorite holiday! I'd quite like a steaming pile of pancakes AND a grilled cheese sammitch at the same time.
Edit: Anyone watch the old Cartoon Network show Dr Katz? The one w/Dom Irrera- when he tells the Doc *I'd like to lie on top of you- like a big pancake*
Good stuff- not as good as a good plate of p-cakes, but good still.

There was a small place in London called 'My Old Dutch' that made them with cheese and spinach or your choice of a few different combo's, folded or rolled, they were great, really good.
Edit: Here are some ideas, http://www.myolddutch.com/

ETA: I haven't eaten there in years, it's pretty much the last place I'd go for pancakes.

The center had been cut so there was a flap, and then filled with a sort of sweet tasty custard, and then the flap was put back down, and then it was all covered in glaze.
It looked kinda like a Balrog.

-Mike | I don't give a tinker's hoot was that dreadful chain of misery was doing on the wrong day last week - Pancake Day is Shrove Tuesday and that means TODAY!
Stupid dumb IHOP fools. "International House of Pancakes" and they don't even know which day is Pancake Day.
