Yes, it's april 30th, the day we celebrate the birthday of the dutch queen.

In other words, everybody goes to Amsterdam in orange to get pissed and have a good time.

Everybody you ask? Yes, everybody.

I'm Dutch (ish)

Can I play?? My ancestors came from Poortvliet. I think I'm going to go talk to my boss and tell him I'm going to get pissed!

I'm not Dutch, but the way I understand it is this: Today is Queen's Day, then tomorrow is Ascension Day, another holiday. Although Friday isn't a real holiday, a lot of people are going to treat it as one anyway. It must be nice being in the Netherlands. I was there last year, but it was a little after Queen's Day.

Cripes, we Americans don't have NEARLY that much fun on President's Day. I'm jealous.

The orange mania in the Netherlands is scary.

I'd like to live in the Netherlands, but this part puts me off...big time!
