We ate there yesterday; the one at Universal City Walk, CA. The food was way too expensive and not worth it IMO. My steak was gritty.
As far as gear, the one thing that really registered on the cool factor for me was Joe Walsh's double neck Gibson that he played on the Hotel California tour.
Other than that, meh.

I'm still pissed at Hard Rock since they wouldn't honor my reservations for opening night of the Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi. Velvet Revolver was scheduled to play, and I had two rooms. Then came Hurricane Katrina the weekend before. I guess my little bit of annoyance is overshadowed by the fact that since they weren't technically open yet, they got zilch for insurance when the storm wiped the brand new place off the map. I think they lost something like $80mil on rebuilding.

We're talking elementary school skinny. Slash must be something like 4' 11" and have a 24" waist. And Scott Weiland, OMG. There was a Boy George gown of some sort and judging by that size, he could kick their asses.

Between the casino, drinks, food, room, etc.......it's spend, spend, SPEND. It never seems like you're getting anything worth even close to what you're spending.
I much prefer Vegas. There's so much competition for your money, they really make it worthwile to spend it there. I'm not a gambler but I still enjoy Vegas. The worst casino in Vegas is better than the damn Hardrock Casino here |

I never do when we go. If we go to a city with a HRC, I make a point to eat there at least once. It's a touristy thing to do, and it isn't like the place is terrible.
I've been in a few on weekend nights, and they are pretty much the place to be. It's a hip, trendy place to be seen. It also makes for good conversation with people when you have nothing much to talk about, so you can all start mentioning the HRC's you have been to.

-Mike | Yeah, Hard Rock has never been known for its food, at least not since the 1980s, when potato skins, angus burgers and fajitas were considered new and exciting cuisine.

my only complaint was the constant fear I was going to knock one of those celebrity guitars off of the wall...the stage was high enough that I could touch the ceiling if I reached for it.

Jeez... I thought Paul Allen was already rich. Now I know how he bought that new yacht last year.

Hard Rock is a burger joint. Stick with the burgers and you'll be happy. They make a really good hamburger. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
