Gutting myself? Not so much.

However I've never felt depressed afterwards. Perhaps you shouldn't watch it anymore, especially not alone. |

You're not alone Atoz, I was disappointed too.

Now I'm middle aged and I just watched it again a few months ago and got a whole different vibe from it. Very emotionally moving for me. Not a "cool" movie anymore, but I agree it was a bit depressing.
Great movie.

I have to say that my favorite Floyd lies in the Atom Heart Mother through Animals period. The stuff before it's good, but not what I think of immediately when I think of Floyd. Everything after that is really kinda depressing. |

After that they totally lost me. I bought The Wall, played it once and it sat on the shelf for years. I pulled it out a couple of years ago. I am really impressed by the production, but the album itself leaves me cold.
".... and when the band you're in starts playing different tunes...."
I hear enough of their later stuff every day on the radio at the construction site
