-Adolf Speller | You'd still never use it as "awsome".
Even in typing this post, I had such a hard time spelling it the wrong way. Why is it so difficult? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=awsome

Maybe it's just a way for people to feel better about themselves, by pointing out other peoples' errors, but I just find it silly.
This is the internet, you need to take into account that 1) English may not be everyone's primary language 2) Some people may be less educated than yourselves 3) Some people couldn't care less about their spelling 4) This is the internet. If spelling/grammar mistakes are what set you off you'd be much better off reading a book. There are mistakes in those as well, see if you can point them out and report back to us!

It's definitely not a way to feel better about myself lol it's just an annoyance.

I just see SO MUCH of this going down on TB with the spelling/grammar nazis and all. Havent they realized that its pointless? Pointing out someone's bad spelling or grammar just seems like so much of a waste, even if its done with the best of intentions. The fact is, the "nahzis" are creating just as much of an annoyance to others as the bad spelling/grammar is to them.
We're well past grammar/elementary school by now, if these incorrect spellers havent learned phonetics/proper grammar by now, an internet post isnt likely to teach them.

If one wants to be treated like an idiot, then by all means, make no attempt to use correct spelling or grammar. But if one wants to be understood and taken seriously, then one better make the effort.

Sure, maybe those aren't valid excuses to you, but the fact of the matter is when youre reading something online, you don't know why the person is misspelling or using incorrect grammar.
Those could be the reasons, or they could be one of the first two I listed, which you seem to think are valid. Or there could be other reasons I didn't list, you don't know.
My point is, if you don't have better things to do than try and correct someone's spelling or grammar you should probably get a life.

It just frustrated me at the moment when I read it, hence this thread.
That being said, most browsers have spell-check these days, is it so hard to notice when you spell "awesome" wrong? It's a simple right click to fix it most of the time (for example, I just fixed all of the "errors" in your post though it was mostly just missing apostrophes and capitalizing "Nazi", which are things I myself would leave out at times as well).

And nahzi aint worth capitalization! (pronounced nat-zee)
And in reality, I dont really care about people being spelling nahzis as much as I come across in this thread.
