The internet is a great destroyer. I always say it affirms the intelligent and reinforces the ignorant. Sadly, others in other countries are reading these ignorant, disgusting, demented comments and attributing it to the average American.
That being said, DO NOT take them at any value. They are value-less. Don't let them ruin your compassion. I've thought about closing myself off to as much internet as possible in order to wash myself of the stench. | This.
For the record, TB seems to be much higher than the average Internet user in terms of quality thought. That's why I've been here for over 12 years. I haven't stayed this long on any other forum during my tenure on the Internet.

It's rare here, but we do have a few TB'ers who seem to only crawl out of the woodwork to preen their unassailable persona while attacking anybody who admits to a problem or weakness.
Why is it successful? From the standpoint of rational debate, I think it's a logical fallacy that hasn't been recognized as such. The antidote is critical reasoning. |

How is it that we're losing our humanity, yet at the same time seemingly gaining it?

| I would tend to agree. I should have typed it a bit differently to better get my intention across.

How is it that we're losing our humanity, yet at the same time seemingly gaining it? | Mind blown.
Isn't that a paradox?
It's only a matter of time before Wall-e or Idiocracy....
