Just a little bit of salt and a quick roast and they're done, definately better than potato chips. Most insects make a decent meal if heated properly. Small ones are ok raw I guess. Bigger things like scorpions that are more meaty are bit too slimy for me. If they were overcooked I'd think they would be easier to eat. Travelling in Africa, some maggots were delicious. And some were disgusting. But again, it was mostly about how they were prepared. In general, I find all smaller critters, like insects, maggots and arachnids to be quite decent food. The small mammals, intestines of larger animals and some bird parts can be very different story though.
Rats are probably only thing I couldn't get down. But I'm sure they would be quite edible if they were prepared better, but the rat on a stick doesn't fly with me. The other super nasty chinese thing was the bird feet. I don't know if they were supposed to be eaten as is but as they were cooked I figured that's the plan. Rubbery and tastes like bird flu. |

Chicken and some dry white toast, please. |

Oh btw it's just lamb or sheep intestines. | Well, they actually look pretty good after cooking. Definately better than haggis, and I'd bet that those lamb intestines taste better too. |
