I've had two, one of genius, the other of good luck.

There is a guy from my church that has had about 6 or so, he can't walk, talk or feed himself anymore. He can also only use one arm and not very well. I don't want to ever have a stroke.

No, but I've had a kidney infarction ... same thing, only in the kidney instead of the brain.

Yeah, when I was eight. I can't remember it too well, though I had migraines for years afterwards.

Yes just a couple of years ago i had what is called TIA syndrome caused by cronic migraines. I collasped with strokes twice at work. the one time my wife took me to the hospital and the other they called the EMS. I was in the hospital for a few days seeing if i had a tumor whatever all they knew was i had been having massive migraines with vomiting for a few days off and on and then the strokes kicked in.

I went back to work but my reflixes were so off i got in to a fender bender car accident that i could of been killed in...long story. I collapsed an hour latter when i got to work at my PC. I also has a stroke in my car that lasted about 45minutes once and i was stuck there couldnt start my car or get the keys into ignition..good thing LOL. I would get numb complety from head to toe face everything on my left side and im left handed ,confused and slurred speech...it sucked let me tell ya. Today i'm on meds no more strokes or migraines but i still wonder if they will ever return. I took weeks to play simple songs on bass again. Sorry for the rant had to get my story out.

I know everyone will have different views, but if i ever got like that, i'd love for someone to put me out with an overdose of morphine or something.

yeah.......as a matter of fact I have.
Small one that they are still looking at. (I'm only 39)

Messed up my "input/output" (speeking and understanding spoken words) for a while.

Headaches like crazy.

My Mom has. 20 years ago. It paralyzed her whole left side for the better part of 3 days. She still has problems, and also shows signs of MS & Fibromyalgia. Docs aren't positive it's related, but come on.

A very dark time in my memory.

I haven't had one but I see people who have everyday at work (I work on the neurology/neuro-surgery floor of a hospital). All I can say is that I pray that I never have one and that I wish the best for anyone who has. Anyone who is making light of this subject should really grow up. The people who have had strokes can't help the way they talk, walk, eat, etc. Their brains have been damaged. Strokes are one of the most dibilitating things that could happen to someone in their lifetime. Sorry I'll get off my soapbox now...

Thanks i agree. I live everyday wondering if they will return which i was told could happen...it terrifys me.I still have weird after effects to this day at times. I have a neighbor who was a bass player for years in rock and country bands great guy. He had a stroke out of the blue one day and didnt get help quick enough and has to now walk with a cane and is fully disabled and now non-verbal. His whole world ended for what it was that day ...today he sits at home watches TV and goes on slow walks when the weathers nice...so sad.
