It's nice to see what's out there, especially regarding information and content that you've managed to place on the internet. People talk about the "carbon footprint" you leave on the planet all the time, well what about the "digital footprint"?.
What's even more surreal is seeing other people with the same name as you, and to look at the lives they're living. There's someone with my name who is some savior in Haiti for the charity and aid he's given in a christian-based organization. Weird stuff.
I don't like the idea of someone else with the same name as me.. bugs me out. |

I have an extremely unusual name, so it's easy.
Despite being on the Internet nearly every day since 1983, there has never been a single hit except one from an Amazon order I placed. They had changed their policies to allow default settings to show users on Google. BAD! I went back and cleared that up.

By the glazed look in his eyes in the picture, he obviously wasn't sober, but he has never lived it down.
Moral: careful what you put on the internet.

Other than that, I cannot complain because I couldn't find myself.

| | As a matter of fact, I DO have a warning label. | | Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Near Orlando FL | | | I google myself weekly. In the age of employers doing exactly the same thing, it's good to know what they might find. Fortunately, I have a really unusual name, so there aren't a lot of other people to sift through.

| | Registered User | | | | | I googled myself a year or two ago after some friends told me I'd be surprised at all the stuff I'd find. Nothing at all came up. It was like I didn't exist. I have an odd name so there were no false hits. Tried it again a few months ago and I had 2 pages of my church's web-site and related hits but nothing else. So now I exist, but only at church!
I even found a who's-related-to-whom sort of site and found out that I'm not related to my parents or siblings, but I am related to my husband's ex-wife's family and to my ex-husband's second wife's family. Amazing.

just tried it right now as an experiment: me, some other guy, me, some other guy, multiple people, some other guy, me, me, ???, me

The first page of results were all me, facebook, myspace, twitter (frogot I had one), a tripod website for my very first band (when I was 14, awful, but amusing looking at it now), a soundclick page (also made when I was 14, had two solo bass solo bass songs). Some pages from other bands too. |

1) I'm a high school kid on some basketball scouting website's radar
2) I died in the twin towers on 9/11
Didn't really care to continue after #2
