I just got a friend of mine to pick up a 25ft HDMI cable for me as he works at the store. It had a 950% (no, that is not a typo) markup on it. I guess I know where they make their profit.

We would get $15.00 for a 3' CAT5 cable that we had one of our guys make from scrap pieces of cable that had already been sold once. At least we used plenum cable sometimes.

950% is ridiculous, but they're not making much money on the other stuff.
