I'm using all my vacation days, and camping out in my shop at work every weekend this summer. I got a lot of work to do to catch up and build a matching Sherman to battle him!
Oh and yes, I know quite a bit about the Hell Survivors field in Pinckney MI. Wickedawesome is an understatement. |

Makes me wonder though... How much would it hurt to get shot by that thing...

Except his fires 50 rounds at once! Just as legal as my water balloon slingshot. Asked the ref, "Can I use this?" He said sure, we dumped a whole tube into the canvas pouch, waited for the ref to start the game.
Sounds the horn, the other team starts firing randomly and running to take positions. We let loose the volley, and we listen. Three seconds later, "WHAP WHAP WHAPAPAPAPAAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAAAAPAPAPAP" as the balls land all over the center large bunker in one enormous cluster, and cries of pain and panic as total chaos breaks out around that bunker! We're laughing our arses off as 6 guys walk off the field just COVERED! We basically invented the pocket-sized mortar launcher that day. Next month we went back, saw plenty of slingshots. Heh heh heh. |

Getting shot by one or two balls at just under 300 fps STINGS and will leave a nice black and blue welt. Sometimes they can even break the skin slightly. Getting hit with a BUNCH of them at just under 300 fps STINGS BIG TIME |

When I was younger, I used to play at Hell Survivors a lot (Futureball, as well.) I played one of the big games once, Millenium Mission I think, and it was pure chaos. Awesome! They also had the Tipp-machine out, which was a dune buggy which had a rotating gattling gun on the front that spat more paint then I could imagine. It was REALLY cool.

Though I'm no stranger to paintball, I've never played on an official field, and I'm pretty sure most times I've played the markers were rigged to shoot faster than 300fps...

A good gun will shoot very accurately at 300fps. Faster causes the balls to curve, break in th gun and all sorts of other problems like prematurely wearing out the guns internals. Plus, you run the risk of the balls going through eye protection. I'd MUCH rather have a gun that can accurately and consistantly shoot 18 balls per second than have one shooting over the speed limit |

I think I just have very cruel friends...

You can tell by the sound of the balls breaking and how they fly. When setting up a gun you would be amazed at how close you can adjust one by eye and sound before shooting through a chronograph.
It's all fun until a paintball breaks through someones goggles. Then it's BAD!! I've played with people that I KNOW were shooting "hot" A good gun with a balls per second advantage is always better choice. A gun shooting "hot" will usually experience all sorts of reliablility "issues" or wild accuracy. That's when you light them up

I get to be an old snob about something!) and take my PGP out against the big guns. If you played carefully, you could hold your own against the best just fine. Just don't get charged.

I went from my Tippy 98C that had so much work done that it shot 17 bps straight as an arrow to my Tippy SL-68 and my PGP. Saved a lot of money on paint and played a hell of a lot better.
