Rejoice Top Gear fans for season 13 has started. For the ones that haven't seen the first episode yet, they unveiled the Stig's true identity. I'm not going to spoil who it is so get downloading to see the episode. For the ones that have seen it; do you really think he is the Stig?

Yes, I had a suspicion he was the Stig all along.

Well... IMO he is one of the "stigs".

They obviously used different race drivers.

But I do believe that ******* ********** is the most frequent used driver.
Otherwise he wouldn't be the one they made a spectacle about.

It all fits... talented driver (although I was never a fan of him), "retirement" just about the same period the white Stig was introduced.

They're were speculations all along. When a famous person like that makes a trip sometimes from ******* to the UK a lot of people get the idea.

BTW,

Last nights episode was as usually awesome.

Jeremy: "If you had a pistol, you would have shot yourself?"
James: "Oh yes, years ago."

I think they made him the stigg because he's the owner of that ferrari they did, so he would lend it to them.

I don't think he would pretend to be the Stig all along if he wasn't.

That would damage his reputation.
And as much as I dislike that driver, he has integrity.

If he wasn't the stig he would lend them the Ferrari and drive it as himself and not as the stig.
IMO

I was actually surprised that he drives a Fiat Chroma wagon in real life.

On the other hand, by unveiling the real stig they would destroy a large part of the show's appeal.

I didn't like yesterday's episode that much by the way. The train race was great, but the in-studio pieces seemed way too forced to be funny for me. Also the Stig interview had some missed opportunities.

Good point on 'stiggy's' integrity.

I don't think he's the real Stig. As the highest paid sports figure at one time, I doubt he would turn to running around an old airport every week.

ps....the unmasked guy parks his airplane at the airport I work. He lives about 20km down the road from us.

It's so obviously a sarcastic joke that I don't know why anybody is bothering to even discuss it!

It's typical of their sarcastic sense of humour and a typical "stunt" - but the Stig has been around for much longer than ...

Yeah, I think he could be one of the stigs but probably not full-time stig. Then again, how awesome would that look on your resume.

Interviewer: So rounding up this job interview, is there anything else you want to share with us?
Me: Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I used to be fulltime Stig at Top Gear for 4 seasons.
Interviewer: OMGBBQNOWAI!!!!1!!11!!!!

And yet here you are discussing it.

We got you hooked.

If it was a stunt, I don't think they would have used a man of this caliber to make this prank.

And I don't think that a man of this caliber would participate in this hype if he was not affiliated with Top Gear before.

my 2 cents

100% not the Stig, but a pretty funny joke nonetheless. AFAIK there is almost certainly more than one Stig for different purposes, but the one who does the track tests has been spotted with dark brown hair thats slightly longish (coming out from the helmet). There is no way that could have been Michael's short fair hair!

No, I am the Stig, and I have the t-shirt to prove it.

Not the Stig. I really doubt the Stig is even one person to begin with.

I haven't seen the episode, but I know there have been several Stigs in the past, and they change the driver every so often. One only of the previous Stigs (to my knowledge) has ever confirmed he was, in fact, the Stig.

I've a friend who knows the Stig and it is one person!

Of course he won't tell me who it is (!) but he did say that he has never driven F1, so that rules out the recent reveal! Seems that he has been a successful driver in the European scene.

He told me this a year ago so it may no longer be accurate.

I don't think he is the Stig. First at the end Jeremy said 'I don't think he is the Stig', second during the credits they credited 'The Stig', and 'Special Guest - .........', finally after the show a BBC spokeswoman said 'We never reveal who or what The Stig is'.
