Rejoice Top Gear fans for season 13 has started. For the ones that haven't seen the first episode yet, they unveiled the Stig's true identity. I'm not going to spoil who it is so get downloading to see the episode. For the ones that have seen it; do you really think he is the Stig? |

Well... IMO he is one of the "stigs".
They obviously used different race drivers.
But I do believe that ******* ********** is the most frequent used driver.
Otherwise he wouldn't be the one they made a spectacle about.
It all fits... talented driver (although I was never a fan of him), "retirement" just about the same period the white Stig was introduced.
They're were speculations all along. When a famous person like that makes a trip sometimes from ******* to the UK a lot of people get the idea. |

Last nights episode was as usually awesome.
Jeremy: "If you had a pistol, you would have shot yourself?"
James: "Oh yes, years ago." |

That would damage his reputation.
And as much as I dislike that driver, he has integrity.
If he wasn't the stig he would lend them the Ferrari and drive it as himself and not as the stig.
IMO
I was actually surprised that he drives a Fiat Chroma wagon in real life. |

I didn't like yesterday's episode that much by the way. The train race was great, but the in-studio pieces seemed way too forced to be funny for me. Also the Stig interview had some missed opportunities.
Good point on 'stiggy's' integrity. |

ps....the unmasked guy parks his airplane at the airport I work. He lives about 20km down the road from us.

It's typical of their sarcastic sense of humour and a typical "stunt" - but the Stig has been around for much longer than ...

Interviewer: So rounding up this job interview, is there anything else you want to share with us?
Me: Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I used to be fulltime Stig at Top Gear for 4 seasons.
Interviewer: OMGBBQNOWAI!!!!1!!11!!!! |

We got you hooked.
If it was a stunt, I don't think they would have used a man of this caliber to make this prank.
And I don't think that a man of this caliber would participate in this hype if he was not affiliated with Top Gear before.
my 2 cents |

AFAIK there is almost certainly more than one Stig for different purposes, but the one who does the track tests has been spotted with dark brown hair thats slightly longish (coming out from the helmet). There is no way that could have been Michael's short fair hair!

Of course he won't tell me who it is (!) but he did say that he has never driven F1, so that rules out the recent reveal! Seems that he has been a successful driver in the European scene.
He told me this a year ago so it may no longer be accurate. |

| | | I don't think he is the Stig. First at the end Jeremy said 'I don't think he is the Stig', second during the credits they credited 'The Stig', and 'Special Guest - .........', finally after the show a BBC spokeswoman said 'We never reveal who or what The Stig is'. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8111588.stm
