I hypothesize that this must mean that a woman is constantly thinking about something, and absolutely never thinking about nothing.

Monday she came home with a box of Pop-Tarts.

I said "Honey, really? Pop-Tarts? They're nothing but nasty junk food!"

She said "At least they're the unfrosted kind."

Oh, OK.

I learned years ago that if you looked into my woman's brain, it probably looks like a big jumble of wires all tangled up. And, on every one of those wires is about a thousand sparks of things I can't stop thinking about. If you looked into a man's brain, I think you'd find four (maybe five if he's a musician) tidy partitions labeled Food, Sex, Sports/Cars/Motorcycles, and Nothing. The musicians would have a Music partition.

Id say I have more partitions than that, however my brain may be wired more like a womans...

I don't think you're wired *quite* like we are, but you do have more partitions.

Definitely more partitions. And my "sex partition" has lots of subdivisions.

See - that's not bad. Partitions are mostly sane. They're neat, tidy, and it's relatively easy to close the door between them. The whole ball of wires that never stops sparking - that just drives you crazy after a while because all the sparks collide off each other.

Im certain I have one partition designated "Chaos" that contains a small ball of wires. I can close that partition off at times, but sometimes things spill out.

Strange... there must be some universal truth to this. I find it unbelievably easy to power down my brain but my girlfriend professes she never stops thinking while conscious and isn't even aware of how to. It appears to stress her out a bit.

An advantage for me is that I can tell right away when the "What about this, that, and the next thing" starts to happen so I promptly turn my brain off. It's a defense mechanism, almost involuntary at this point.

It's been a while since I heard a good generalization about dudes, lol. It's not really a big deal, I might make a funny face then move on with my life .

You might want to suggest meditation. Its a great way to "stop thinking".
