Heisman Trophy - Who should win in?

Sign in to disble this ad
Tebow? Having an average year but he can get it for "lifetime achievement". The last QB to break the NCAA rushing TD record (Tebow is only 2-4 TDs away from breaking it) was Eric Crouch who most people think got the Heisman for a career award.

McCoy? Having another big stat year but may not be enough. Another player that could get the career achievement award with 40+ wins as a starter.

Gerhart? Massive yards and putting Stanford on the map.

Ingram? Slow end to the season may hurt him. Needs a big game against UF.

Crazy NU fans think Suh should at least get a trip to NYC. Huskers fans made a point to vote for him on the ESPN polls and he is #1. Completely bogus poll but could a DT ever win the Heisman?

My vote goes to Gerhart right now. What does everyone think?

I'm with you - Gerhart has just gotten better, and Stanford has steadily depended on him more, as the season has progressed. Stanford goes 3-9 without him.

Ingram deserves a serious look as well, he's shouldered the load for Alabama this year.

who should win: gerhart.

who will win: mccoy.

it'll be interesting to see if the southwest voting region leaves tebow off of their ballots like last year, or if the southeast region retaliates by doing the same with mccoy.

i really do hope that mccoy wins, since that means that he'll lose his bowl game.

I agree Ingram deserves a very serious look. But he did not shoulder the load for Bama in most of the games this season, it was a group effort from a fairly well balanced offense, and Ingram is the star of that offense. Others have been instrumental as well, for example, Richardson, Upchurch and Jones stepped up in the Auburn game. I would say the Rolando Mcclain has been as important as anyone on the team this year!

Gerhart. For running over Notre Dame if for nothing else. That performance was unreal!

I like Spiller, but he won't win. I'm thinking McCoy or Tebow.

If Ingram was the only threat in the Bama offense, he would have it wrapped up by now. As KB mentioned, he was sharing touches all season with other quality players in that offense.

Gerhart. Stanford would be in the PAC-10 cellar if it weren't for him. And that's coming from a Stanford alum.

Florida would still be a great team without Tebow, and you can say that about most of the rest of the people on the list.

Gerhart won't win it though, because Stanford didn't win enough games. Although the Heisman is in theory an individual award, your team has to be in the top 5-10 to realistically have any shot at winning it.

My guess is they'll give it to McCoy unless 'Bama somehow beats Florida and he puts up big numbers. Tebow might win it but voters are often reluctant to give it to someone twice. Suh is an impressive player but I can't see it going to a DL.

MJ, good mention on Spiller, I forgot about him. Crazy threat on returns as well as at halfback. Being in the ACC is a definite roadblock.

I believe that Tebow will again beat the winner of the Heisman Trophy.

Gerhart has been most impressive. Tebow and McCoy continue to win, but have had better years.

I think Gerhart should get it, the guy's incredible.

In Tebow's defense, #6 in the nation in QB rating ain't too bad for someone supposedly having a down year. He just hasn't had as many attempts as most guys.

So the invites have been sent. The pundit polls on this are all over the place. Ingram, Gerhart and McCoy seem to have the lead in most of them. I don't really care myself other than it would cool for Ingram to finally bring one to Tuscaloose. I just don't get into the Heisman much. To me it's enough that a give player is even in the discussion.

I'll be happy if Gerhart or Suh get it. The two most deserving IMHO.

Word on the street has it that it's Ingram, Suh then Gerhart in the voting. Tight race.

Ingram without a doubt. Especially the way he played against FL.
