Hi,

I just registered a couple days ago. I'm sort of amazed at how much information is here. I participate in a number of guitar forums. This one is really active! Wow.

Me? I live in Flagstaff, AZ. I'm a singer/songwriter and kids' entertainer - guitarist/vocalist. I've started researching a bit because I want to get a good quality bass for recording. Something that offers some tonal variety, G.A.S. strikes again. The classifieds here are just plain dangerous.

My favorite bass players are Paul McCartney and Tony Levin.

OK. I'll go back into hiding now. Just wanted to introduce myself to the board & this looked like the place to do it.

Best,
Chuck

Welcome to TB, Chuck! You'll find your initial impressions confirmed many times over, this place has an incredible amount of information--and a lot of helpful, genuinely cool people, even if it does get a wee bit snarky sometimes. As for OT, you're better off treading lightly and not getting sucked in--trust me!

It is possible to escape the dark and slightly smelly depths of OT, though the atrocities one has to commit can never be spoken of for fear of the dreaded perma-ban and the loss of one's everlasting soul...

But yeah, other than that, welcome to TB good sir.

Stay the heck away from us here in OT then.

All you'll find here is a bunch of guys arguing about football and women.

HI Chuck,
If you're going to stick around in OT there's just one thing you must know. I'm like a god here. I am the smartest, most witty person you will ever see post here. Also flakeh is mine, so don't even try to make a move on him.

Sincerely,
