Step one - lay out your information as so.

Step two - go to "Insert" then "Chart"

Step three - select "pie" on the left, and the pick the type of pie chart - I like fancy 3D ones, but whatever.

Step four - for basic pie charts, you only need to use columns, and not worry about series, leading to step 5...

Step five - highlight the data ranges, but not empty cells or headers. This is the information you'll use for your chart.

Step six - Title your project, but don't worry about the rest of the information on this tab - they're for other types of charts.

Step seven - determine where you want the legend to be. Better on top or bottom if it'll be printed with a portrait orientation, on the sides if it's going to be landscape.

Step eight - determine what data you want to display - in this example, I used percentages, but whatever.

Step nine - Finish!

Optional step... If you want a "cleaner" look, insert the chart into sheet two, and use your data tables on sheet one.

Optional step - this is what it looks like in 3D.
