what should a person do, if

a) Theres a girl they like, but their close friend all through school passed away from cancer.

b) of course one would try to console (spelling?) them and help them through it

but im not very good at the while "consoling" part with people, i mean i try my best put theres just that feeling u get that theres absolutely nothing you can do. Even if the person your trying to help is very important to you. I really just want to make her feel better because she is a great person and i hate seeing people like this, especially her.

i try to help them through it, and be funny (not in a mean way of course, but just kind of random jokes to take their minds off of it that will hopefully make them laugh a little).

Take her a meat platter and fruit basket. That seems to be the US of A way of handling a death.

Honestly the best thing you can do is really nothing but tell her you are there is she needs to talk. If she does, don't take it as an opportunity to jump bones. Listen. Just listen. Let her open up and vent and cry if she needs to. Don't try to add to anything she has to say with a "Well this is what I did" type of response. If she opens up it's becasue she needs to get it out and doesn't necessarily need a comparison.

If she needs to talk, you let her know you are there if she needs to. I wouldn't pressure the issue and try to be Dr. Phil.

Of course this all assuming once you open the door of communication she even wants to share this with you.

Do anything but take advantage of her. That would be sickening.

Tell her you made a donation to your favorite bass forum
in her friend's memory.

Then let her read all the stupid threads in OT.

That should take care of the prblem. Some things
are worse than death.

PS, hope it works out for you.

ok, i just remembered something...if peavey reads this hes gonna laugh lol...but yea...last week before any of this happened i asked her to a movie this friday. Probably best if i cancel that one i think, maybe just talk to her and she if shes ok instead or something.

i dont think a movie is such a good idead, unless of course it can get her mind off things...

im lost

Movie might still be a good idea. It is a cheesy first date, but in this case it could take her mind off of things. Just make sure that you pick a good movie, not something like I am Legend or Sweeny Todd. Both are great movies, but not in this instance.

From what I have read, it is probably your best bet with the movies that are playing right now.

No idea, I haven't seen it yet. I have read a lot about it because the premise intrigues me. I say go for it, the worst that can happen is that she hates it, kicks you in the sack and while you are doubling over knees you in the nose spewing blood all over an old lady that is walking past.
