help with sony cfd g505

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,
Im looking for some repair advice for a SONY cfd g505 boombox.
I use this at work to listen to my Ipod.
I was working with a partner one evening, listening to some jams, volume very high, it's an industrial setting.
I went to get some parts for a job we were working on.
When I got back to the job site the box was unplugged as my partner had to use the extension cord for a drill.
I plugged the boom box back in, hit the power on button, power light came on for a second, then went out.
Tried several times to use the ac power and battery power.
Nothing!
Disaasmbled the unit at home, fuse was good, but upon removing the power supply I found that 3 of the pc board traces coming from the ac cord socket had opened.
I suspect some sort of surge issue may have caused this.
I bought the sony as a refurbished unit a few months ago so i its not a warrent y repair.
Im thinking I would just close these traces with solder or wire jumpers.
Would my thinking along this line be right?
Any and all feedback/ advice would be greatly appreciated as I listen to the tunes I want to learn to play on my bass.

If anyone might have a schematic for this unit or know of a reliable source I could really use one.
Thanx in advance,
Jeff
