Hendrix' bass performance on Along The Watchtower.

I personally find it to be surprisingly amazing!

It's groovy, busy (but not in a bad way), fits the song well and gives it that bounce and energy that I find is *sorely* lacking from other people's covers of his rendition of this tune.

What say you?

I am old enough to remember Hendrix (never saw him "live") but never knew that fact. I wonder if he was using his 8 string bass that I read about and saw pictures of . Thanks ....

On topic, agreed.

It's a pretty well-known fact that he played bass on that one. Mitch Mitchell even commented on it once in an interview. What I'd really like to know is what other songs Hendrix played bass on. I have even thought of posting a topic on that. That would be interesting to know.

Wonder if there are covers of this rendition with a bassist who emulates Hendrix' bass playing. I have yet to see one.

Rocker949, according to Wikipedia, Hendrix played bass on "the bass solo parts on "1983.""

Whatever that means. lol!

speaking of Koreans...there was a new Korean chick at the Bank of America in Irvine that I frequent. Absolutely gorgeous, with huge flotation devices. The first thing I thought was "holy cow!" The second thing I thought was, "I think Maki would enjoy this."

I tried to get a pic, but bank security wasn't having it

I always wondered if Jimi played the walking bass parts in the middle of "If 6 Was 9".

It just doesn't seem like something Noel would come up with.
