Loev Rollin's spoken word stuff. Saw him a few years back, going to see him again in August too. Great stuff!

| | | As someone who enjoys electronic music, I disagree. However, I love Rollins and respect him for being one of the most real cats around.
I love his rant on "selling out," perhaps because his beliefs are similar to mine on the subject and the whiney scenesters who love to cry about "selling out": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6zVUvmkyvA

Agreed. There is some worthy "electronic" music out there. I'm not saying it's all good but there are definitely some relevant artists. |

I absolutly hate the term "sellout" , so this made me happy to see that someone thinks the same way as me. And I must have sat and replayed the part at the end where he's mocking the singers 10 times. Hilarious! |

This one is also epic.
Another great one is when he goes on about coming home and finding someone to break into his house.
Also, he is awesome in Sons of Anarchy

OK... he is a great public speaker, but i don't think that bit catches him at his best.
THIS bit is good though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bMdT...eature=related

I dunno. To me there`s a big difference between someone like George Carlin doing it to make a point vs. someone doing it just cause they can.
Different strokes as they say. |

Just because you don't like a particular genre of music doesn't qualify the blanket dismissal of it, nor the broad brush typecast of turntablist culture as a bunch of no talents.
Many many many people I know who are very good at it have a wealth of musical knowledge and history Hank could only dream to acquire.
Not to mention that much House / Trance has little to do with turntablism.
Also not to mention this rant and tirade might have been "timely" in '94-'96, but rings hollow and outdated now.
I think that makes him incredibly petty. I never found Rollins Band particularly ground breaking or novel either. I like Hank just fine, but he went down a rung here.

| | | | This proves even more why I don't like Henry Rollins. However, it takes a lot of skill to make being a total jerk funny. So props to him, I guess.
