Pre-season officially ended for me last night when the Titans' scrubs beat out the Packers' scrubs. Hard to believe the NFL regular season is upon us. SHould be a fun season. My Pack are looking tough on both sides of the ball. I think Dom Capers' 3-4 D is going to work well for the Pack.
Gard: I can now officially proclaim - I'm a Favre hater. I'm getting rid of all my Favre memorabilia including signed helmut and cards and photos. Interestingly, I have tickets to the Pack-Viqueen game 11/1 at Lambeau. Give me all your rotten tomatoes and manure because they're going to be launched at #4 along with the loudest boos I can summon.
Jivey: Week #1 is all me versus you baby. I'm predicting the Pack beating up on your boars. Cutler will be great, but doesn't have the offensive weapons A-Rodg has. Your D is over the hill. Ours is young, excited about the 3-4 and will be attacking, sacking, packing.
Pack wins handily 34-17. |

VERY big Week 1 game for my Niners, playing the Cards in Arizona. Time to see if the attitude Singletary has been trying to instill translates to the field and if the team can generate some semblance of a pass rush.
Possibly working in the Niner's favor is that the losing Superbowl team historically struggles the next season. That might be especially true for the Cards who won a weak division, fell bass ackwards into the playoffs (2-4 in their last six games) and just caught fire in the playoffs.
We'll see. If nothing else, it should be a good barometer game. |

Mark Sanchez will be making plenty of rookie mistakes, which should hopefully translate into plenty of turnovers.
I don't pick scores, but I do pick the Texans as the victor.

With no big name receiver I don't know that our running game will take us all the way. Our O-line is great. And the Defense is good. Plus we have a tough division. Well needless to say my fingers are crossed. I least expect a 500 plus season.

OK here we go:
Titans @ Steelers - ...really interesting game. I think the Steelers are going to avoid the early season SB champ slump. Steelers 24 Titans 17
Dolphins @ Falcons - This one will be closer than the Falcons fans think, their defense is suspect, and Miami can run the ball as well as possess a reasonable short-yardage passing game. Miami's defense is capable, but won't be capable ENOUGH. Falcons 27 Dolphins 24
Chiefs @ Ravens - Yeah. Ravens 17 Chiefs -10 (...oh, OK, 7)
Cowboys @ Bucs - As much as I wish Dall@$$ could lose every week, not this week. Cowboys 14 Bucs 10
Vikings @ Browns - Closer than you think. Vikings 24 Browns 23
Eagles @ Panthers - Noonan, you're right to worry. Be very worried. Eagles 31 Panthers 17
Broncos @ Bengals - Dumb & dumber #1 game. Advantage home team: Bengals 21 Broncos 10
Jets @ Texans - jr's right. Texans 24 J-E-T-S JetsJetsJets 13
Jaguars @ Colts - First "real" post-Dungy game. Won't matter, but won't be the blowout Colts fans want to see. Colts 20 Jags 14
Rams @ Seahawks - Uh...dumb & dumber game #2? Home field advantage? Seahawks 14 Rams 13
49ers @ Cardinals - Cards WILL have the losing SB team slump this season. 49ers 20 Cards 10
Redskins @ Giants - Giants have issues with the receiving corps, but Hakeem Nicks is going to be for real. Skins on the other hand discover that their owner STILL can't BUY a winner. Giants 17 Redskins 7
Bears @ Packers - Bears did something to help the offense. Not enough though. Too bad the defense isn't going to be able to stop the Pack. Packers 24 Bears 10
Bills @ Patriots - I don't really know what to think of either of these teams. Patriots 20 Bills 13
Chargers @ Raiders - Wow. The Raiders might break the single season record for losses in a 16 game season, I'm pickin' 'em to lose 18 this year somehow. Lost in their own Black Hole... Chargers 35 Raiders -50 (...OK, OK...6)
MY GAME
Lions @ Saints - Welcome to the NFL, Mr. Stafford. Saints 38 Lions 13

| Dude. It won't be so close. The Bucs are in disarray and are lacking in talent on the field as well as the sideline. The offensive coordinator was just fired. I'll be surprised to see Tampa win 4 games this year. Cowboys by ~17

Dall@$$ will be a .500 team this season....

the last 3-4 years, mid-season, i gave up and just hoped they got a terrible record for some sweet draft picks, with the hope that they are going to be that team next year. it keeps being next year.
mcfadden. fargas. russel. best kicking/punting out there. i thought zack miller was really going to help us out. what the hell do we have to do to get a friggin team?
hmm... qb with one of the most insane arms out there and no one to catch it. i just... sigh... you reminded me how depressed im probably going to be this season.
thanks bro. |

I agree, the Pack is looking tough and providing that #12 stays healthy, there should be excitement for us this season.
Did you happen to see Ford talking on the bench phone after he gave up the TD to Edison? Yeah, that was Wendy's calling - he's supposed to be at work at 7:30 sharp on Monday morning!
Go Pack! Break a leg...actually two legs - both belonging to Favre! One for Kampman and one for Hawk, both on the same sack!

Falcons FTW. | ...let me introduce you to your worst nightmares:
I could keep going, but that's rubbing it in. The #1 offense from last year is BETTER this year, and the Falclowns defense is going to be shredded.
Your offense cannot win a shootout with the Saints, and they won't be up against the same "bend don't break" crap defense they were last season, the Saints have a much different look on defense, and no one is paying attention to it...but that's fine by me, '06 all over again.

The Titans / Steelers game has the fixins to be a brutal defensive fest on both sides of the ball. I'm going to give the nod to Pittsburgh solely 'cause they are in Steeler territory.
