Hey Classic Car fans, It's Cruise Week in Detroit!

Once a year, a car museum comes to my door, literally. It's only Friday and already Woodward Avenue is clogged with all kinds of classic cars. I am geting pics as I can and just posting them for your viewing pleasure.

Bricklin and a Superbird! I would probably pass out if I went to the Dream Cruise. I get light headed from the Greenwich concours!

Say's it's gotta Hemi. Didn't get a look under the hood.

If it's truly a Hemi-'Bird, it's worth a whole lotta dough! Even in that condition. A numbers matching restored Hemi-Bird fetched about $250,000 at a Barrett-Jackson auction last year!

As much as I like the muscle cars, I love the everyday cruisers...they turn up and I am going to focus Saturday on those...here's a few:

Almost stepped on this one:

Great job on the pictures, thank you for posting them. I'd give my left leg, kidney, and lung for a couple of those rides.

Owned the same Charger. Mine was a 68 383 Magnum. Replaced it with a 69 440 pistol grip Charger RT. Sweet cars!!

We got the Pebble Beach Concours d'elegance going on this weekend as well. All kinds of fancy, rare and expensive cars rolling around the peninsula. Makes me nervous driving around since every other car is worth like a quarter million dollars (I wish I were exaggerating).

This is the kind of stuff rolling around: Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance 2011 - Photo Gallery

The total $ figure and sweat equity represented by the majority of these rides is staggering. Having done a '57 Chevy frame-off resto back in the 80's, I truly appreciate the efforts of these people. And, their deep pockets.

Had to go play a 'Cruise gig' but caught a classic car parade. They're kinda dull profiles but I'll sort 'em out & post the good ones. Saturday's the big day and I'll be hoofin' it for more pics.

Last year was a washout. Much too much rain.

Wow, is there really a Superbird up there? I love them but I've only ever seen one in my life. I was planning on heading up there tomorrow; I've never gone to the Woodward cruise but I go to the Fort street cruise downriver every year, and I've gotten to drive my 1975 Dodge Dart in it the past 2. Any tips as to where that Superbird can be found?

EDIT: My goodness, there's two of them! What I would give, even for a ride in one...

Unfortunately, I won't actually be cruising. The drums are grinding on the Dart so it needs brakes, plus it's been overheating for some reason.
