i can understand how you came to that conclusion from the post he has made. and even moreso if you only read part of what is posted on his FB page ... but not once did he say his activism was "community service" or "charity" at least not in this thread ... I do agree with the fact that doing so is a grey area. I may be wrong but I think Jimmy would agree. (It's okay if you don't i am making an assumption afterall)

Charity was mentioned in relation to what he was setting up with his band though.

He did say he "gave back to the community" ... the action he is talking about was simply the right thing to do. This specific action stands on it own ... and is not what i'd consider activism (as defined by the dictionary i have right here... yeah i had to look it up). This act wasn't done to promote any political view. It was done because there was a problem... he figured out a solution... and made it happen.

I'll add that before I PM'ed jimmy myself I came to the conclusion after reading his facebook he did something to alleviate situations at the polling locations. I thought maybe he did something like gave out bottles of water or gave out snacks when people had been waiting in lines for hours. I was wrong. What he did was more awesome!!!

Thanks Turbo. I have no problem with what you said but in retrospect, I shouldn't have mentioned it on here because those with either an anti-me agenda or a dog in the fight otherwise have seen fit to beat me up over it and completely derail what I was hoping would be a positive thread that might give me some ideas. That's a mistake I will never make again, trust me. From now on, bass, amps, and playing, and I will never share any other aspects of my life with folks on here.
