Thought I was a member like 2 years ago, but seemed to forget my handle (or I just never signed up).
In any case, hello!
My first official post!
Lets see, about me...
I dont like the way Fenders look or feel, but think the jazz basses sound amazing!
I owned an Ibanez SR400 and though it felt great, it didn't sound amazing.
I then owned a Gibson Ripper 1973 Set neck, it handled horribly, neck dive like crazy, but sounded really nice. (studio for sure)
I now own a 2002 Warwick Thumb BO 5 (my #2 favorite bass, NT 4 is my favorite) and think it sounds exactly like a bass should sound (for me, of course). I play it like a piano, hard and fast, with much articulation of attack and release. Specific tone to be sure, but exactly the tone I'm after.
Though I prefer Warwicks over any other 'commercial' brand, I am by no means a snob about which brand is better overall. Its like a race car, if its fast and handles the way you like it, its perfect for you.
Cheers! |

What about sports? What are your favorite teams?

As far as my old gear goes, heh:
The Ibanez was made of balsa wood I think, sounded like it anyways, probably bass wood. I know it had some really hot jazz pickups...
I think the Ripper was mahogany or something, it had dual humbuckers. I was as warm as a heated blanket in summer time.
The Thumb is ovangkol with a wenge fretboard, I'm currently using Nickle DR Low Riders 45-135, and they are awesome! Gonna try the Kerly 50-130 Heavy Nickle soon though, as my Low Riders are over a year old.
Cheers! |

I like heavy metal, sports bore me (except womens flat-track roller derby), and I'm happy to report I have no idea who Miley Cyrus or Kim Kardashian are... and in like 10 years I'm sure, nor will anyone else...

| | | | I once dated a roller derby girl.
Sadly, I have never dated Miley Cyrus nor Kim Kardashian...though if I had dated the former, it would purely have just been to get sweet mullet growing tips from her father.
