So I did a search, and I didn't find any threads about that most amazing trilogy of films, High School Musical.

I was really skeptical about the HSM films, and when I accidentally watched half of HSM2 it confirmed my suspicions - cheesy bubblegum pop musical. Then last week I watched the first one all the way through, because I really had nothing better to do. It was then that I realised - it may be a cheesy, bubblegum pop musical, but it is pure genius! I watched the second one, and after watching both of them again in one sitting, I headed over to my local cinema to see the third one. That was on Saturday, and since then I have watched all three of them again - this is the first film I have seen more than once at the cinema since The Matrix came out! I just can't get over how good they are!

Any other closet HSM fans out there?

It's one of the few movies on Disney Channel I can stomach. Cheesy, yes. Bubblegum, yes. But it is one of the few Disney movies/shows that don't portray the adults as complete idiots (insert favorite Disney sitcom here).

And I'd rather have my 7 y.o. daughter dreaming about Troy Bolton and music than watching yet another "family" show on how to best screw over the system (another common Disney theme). Oh, and it also got her off the kick of calling everything "Cheetahlicious".

My .02.

No need to. I'm quite sure that, after making this admission, his man card slipped itself out of his wallet, walked to the junk drawer in the kitchen, pulled out the scissors, and sliced itself in half on the open blade.

And call me a dirty old man if you must, but that Vanessa Hudgens is cute!

Do we need to start the "Dirty Old Man Club" now?

I have daughters.

The stabbing pains of the "musical" content is all too familliar.

I hate musicals.

That didn't happen to the man card. As soon as this admission was made, the mancard just dematerialized. I'm a dirty old man too. I liked the pic of Miss Hudgens that circulated the net a while back. It was refreshing seeing a hot young girl (of legal age) who didn't go all crazy with the razor.

Well this thread wasn't received as well as I was hoping...

You can have my Man Card if you want - I've already arranged to collect my new Woman Card, so I'll leave my Man Card outside my front door - Toasted or Tayste are probably closest to pick it up/destroy it...
