watch out for the high school beating, we all got them, at least at my school we did.

its really to "welcome" you with open arms and fist to the stomach.

One of my best friends got a swirly. THAT was rough.

but, dont try to be a super star....thats what brings on the beatings.

wear what the heck you want, don't give in to "styles" and the superficialism. Welcome to High School, it sucks, people are two faced and mean at times also quite a bit of drugs too, expect that.

Don't let others bring you down be yourself and you'll eventually find a group that accepts you for who you are (at mine we have the metal head crew, we stand out and do what we want, we may not be popular or anything but who cares what the others think at this point, we just be ourselves). These will be the years you get a feel of what people are like since they are old enough to know what your going to be like, you and everybody else will have their grown/growing attitudes. People claim to be mature but are really immature, gossip is plentiful and some people seem to be drama queens.

Experiment (these will be the years girls, alcohol and weed are expected), find some good friends and jam with as many people as possible, good luck!

Eh I'd hold off on experimentation until college. HS is pretty important. This is your once chance to make yourself look good on paper. Go in strong from the start.... and keep on going. Set goals for yourself and try your best to meet them. I totally changed who I was in HS from when I went in to when I came out. I really found myself in HS and it was great. It's your chance to blossom so to speak. Find out what you love to do, and pursue it.

Then college comes around and you have a lot of time to screw around... so you can do that and still do well in classes. It's the greatest... but HS has it's own special perks that you'll never get to experience in life again, so make the best of it.

I'm guessing you were quite popular and had it going on easy.

Ehhh sort of. I was extremely awkward in 9th and 10th grade... then junior year I found a lot of confidence and I just stopped caring about everything. Just tried to be nice with everyone because I figured I could learn something from everybody... I wouldn't say that I was "popular" but I'd say you'd be hard-pressed to find someone to say something bad about me.

I'm just saying avoid drama... save drugs and alcohol for a little later in life (my friend got the most BS DUI ever and had to check the yes box in the "have you ever been committed of a crime" box on all his college apps and had to pray he got in to where he wanted to). Girls all you want, just realize that in HS with all the hormones/pheromones/high school drama that most of them are psycho in some way. Just don't let a girl control you. Let her know you are the boss 8-).

Just be careful, that's all I'm saying. It should be the time of your life.

??? No, I played varsity lacrosse and was pretty in shape... but yeah I was one of quite a few "musical kids." Played bass guitar in every ensemble that had it, and took all the theory classes I could. Whatever that makes me...

Don't worry about being popular and all that mess. Study hard and get good grades so you can get into a good colledge. By the time you are a senior if you have f'd off all the time you will regret it because, you will, at the time be starting to think about what you are going to be doing with the rest of your life. If your high school grades were bad it's going to limit your choices at that point.

As far as not getting beat up/picked on, the two things that worked for me were:

1. knowing some seniors that are friends of older brothers and sisters.

2. Pick a fight with someone bigger than you in a higher grade and win. (This only worked for me because I got into a lot of fights as a kid and really didn't care if I lost one.) I did it off school grounds after the bus left, because this guy was talking about how he thought he could kick my but.

If you are just going to try and ignore bullies altogether ignore the ones that are way bigger and in higher grades, no one will think you are pushover because of that. But, if someone in your own grade starts to single you out it's best to end it right away either through a strern threat or a quick punch in the nose. Other than that high schools guys talk a lot of smack so have some good comebacks ready.

Just dont "act" like anything. Be yourself.

That's how I did it.

And I'm pretty much a stone cold gangster as you can clearly see

High Schools nowhere near as big a deal as people make it out to be before they get in there. It's the same people you've been going to classes with for the last 8 years.

College is much more of a departure.

Definitely minimize the class cutting. The better grades you get now, the easier your future will be.

And definitely have as much fun as you can, in high school and in college. Before too long, you're in the real world, working all the time, with a lot more responsibilities.

The most important thing is to not act like you're better than everyone else and be judgmental.

Also, stay away from drugs and get good grades.

Always keep your elbows bent. Don't ever drop your guard.

On the first day, find the biggest guy and start a fight. Oh, wait that's prison. never mind.

Oh yah this makes me remember something, its NOT a big deal it just those people that think they are living in "The OC" and are filled with HS drama that ticks me off.

Oh yah i merely commented on the alcohol/pot thing, I'm not trying to say yes do it but more making the point it is a common place to try out new things.

Oh yah good grades are good get your *** in college and try to take the good classes, I regret not being able to get into physics because of my marks, such an interesting course from what I have seen.
