"Highball" offers!

I get these occasionally on trade threads. They can be as annoying as lowball offers. Sometimes, I get reasonable offers for my stuff + cash and that's cool. Every once in a while you get something like "interested in my Akai Deep Impact for your MXR-80?," or a bass worth waaaaay more than what you have listed. Mostly from TB'ers that never post.

I've gotten a few. Once, the item offered was worth (literally) 8-9 times what I was selling.

How is being offered way more than what you're asking for annoying?

It's either:

A. Someone playing some kind of joke (more than likely.)
B. Someone that has no idea of the value of their stuff. They usually don't even respond to your reply.

Because it wasn't being offered as an even swap. You're not being offered way more than what you're asking. You're being asked to trade your item and then throw in 8-9 times the value in cash to make up the difference. Sure, it can't hurt to ask, but if the items listed for possible trade are all in a certain price range, what's the logic?

I traded away a 70s Morely VOL pedal that I got for $75 on ebay for a Dual Bass Wah worth about $30 more. I wasnt annoyed.
