How hard is it to push your shopping cart that extra few feet to the cart corral?

That would require me to do something more than the bare minimum. I refuse.

I don't mind the shopping carts being left in parking spaces. I just realized the other day that I could quite simply drive right into them with my car, and if I go slow enough, they'd stay right in front of my car. I can then take that same shopping cart into the store with me. No need to walk that few extra feet to go get a different one. I think leaving shopping carts scattered around the parking lot is a good idea, since everyone can't park next to the shopping cart corral. Less work for me when the shopping carts are conveniently scattered around my favorite parking spaces.
Or, you could always just shop at stores that have coin operated locks on each cart. Only store I've seen in the US that does that though are the new Aldi markets that are popping up. Almost every store in Finland has coin lock carts though. People tend to return carts to the corral when they can't get their coin back otherwise. Start a campaign for your local supermarket to get coin lock carts. Hm, but then the kids they hire to herd all the carts back at the end of the day will be out of jobs...
I say just drive into the carts that are in your way.

Don't apologize for your intentions... I just mean, if uncorralled shopping carts drive you that crazy then I fear you'll never make it to Jan. 1st.

I need to do my part to make sure the cart wranglers keep their jobs in these hard times.

this. I mean, it's obviously a skill few have mastered, hence this thread. Maybe you could go freelance and train others. GROW THE TRADE.

When I worked retail in high school, cart wrangling was pretty much the best part of the day. First, you got outside. Second, nobody was around to bitch at you. Third, you could smoke. Fourth, you could play Cart Wars if a second person joined you to "help." Fifth... wow I'm starting to miss K-mart. Well, maybe not.
