I just saw the movie The boy in the srtiped Pajamas, and after listening to slayer's Angel of Death and reading more about it i got really into learning more about what happened, sadly i regret some of it, there are a lot of stories that talk about solidarity and courage and stuff like that but there are many others that are heart breaking..
Anyway the point of this thread is, is there any chance of something like the holocaust happen again this day and age?
Discuss..

If you're talking about an organized, massive-scale ethnic cleansing, probably not.
If you're talking about a whole lot of people dying in a very short amount of time, probably. |

Discuss.. | Similar things have happened, but perhaps not on the same scale:
1. Ethnic cleansing in the former Yugoslavia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Srebrenica_massacre
2. The Khmer Rouge's killings in Cambodia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Killing_Fields
3. Rwandan Genocide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rwandan_genocide
4. Darfur (Sudan) at the moment: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_in_...tality_figures
So yeah, there's a chance it could happen again.

to the op, i doubt that organised murder on a scale like the holocaust will take place again. i don't think that the examples mark gave are comparable. stuff like that will happen again and again unfortunatley.

Its not as black and white as you make it out to be.
