I'm broke, and I can make alcohol, but it usually sucks.
I'm just wondering if any of you have a rad, simple, and cheap recipe to make a delicious cider or anything else that doesn't taste like a mens ass.

Also, I want it to get me drunk.

Right now I've got 9 liters of sugarwater, koolaid and bakers yeast fermenting in a mop bucket in the corner. Hoping it wont destroy my gut this weekend.

I think my next recipe will be this cider....

Dude, don't do the sugarwater + bakers yeast thing - prohibition is over.

Seriously, though. The hard cider/apple wine approach is the best way to make cheap but very good quality alcohol.

Get some cans of the frozen concentrated apple juice (make sure it doesn't have any preservatives or additives) and then go to the homebrew store and buy some real brewers yeast. The liquid yeast is superior but if you can't afford the $5 then the dry yeast will do.

TIP: Making good beer and wine is easy . . . but so is making bad beer and wine. The difference is in knowing the proper homebrewing procedures and following them.

Get this book: http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Homeb.../dp/0060531053

It is the bible of homebrewing.

Malted barley is really cheap at the homebrew store. Unless you're completely broke and can't afford a few dollars. In which case you probably shouldn't have getting drunk as one of your major life's goals.
