Home Theatre Question (Sub)

How can I get a hotter signal to my powered sub-woofer? My receiver has a 'Sub Out' jack, but it seems to have a really weak signal. There is no sub volume control on the receiver to my knowledge. With the low EQ boosted, "Loudness" engaged, and the volume up on the sub itself it still doesn't rumble like it should. It's a down-firing, 12" woofer @ 200 W RMS positioned against the wall in a medium sized room.

For reference:

JVC RX-882V (Receiver)
BIC Venturi V-1220 (Powered Sub)

It's an older unit, which makes it impossible to dig anything up. Of all the things I can adjust, the sub level doesn't seem to be one of them. The center channel and rears seem to be the only independently adjustable components.

There usually isn't a way to change the output level of a line out (which is at heart what the sub sends typically are). What makes you think that the signal is weak?

I have a 40 W KLH Bassbite V that I use with my computer. When hooked up to the computer it gives me all the bass I could need before I even turn it up half way. But I can hook it up to he JVC, crank it, and it's hardly noticeable.
