Hooking up PC to TV

Sign in to disble this ad
Probably a dumb question, but what is the best way to connect my laptop to my PC so I can watch dvds or streaming video on my TV? My laptop has VGA and S video jacks, the TV has the S video and standard red/yellow/white RCA inputs.

Thanks,
RS

VGA-HDMI if you have HDMI on your TV/reciever, or if you don't have a hi def setup I'm sure you could find a VGA-colors and that would work just as well.

I run mine DVI-HDMI into the back of my TV and it works just fine.

I would suggest buying from www.newegg.com if you decide to go through with it. Their prices are WAY below any store prices.

S-Video will work fine, and look pretty decent. Don't use the RCA, or the text will be blurry.

How about one of these cables (s-video/audiopin to 3 RCA):

That would work, but if your tv can use s video, use s-video, and then buy a 1/8 male stereo jack to RCA cable for the audio. This will give you a much sharper picture than the RCA video
