i'm really surprised that this hasn't hit CNN yet: http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/51796152.html
don't mind the title of the story, it's actually the third from mysa.com.. it's really about a mentally ill mother murdering her 3.5 week old baby..
this not only makes me sick and sad, but what's really bad is that it happened in the neighborhood that i grew up in. i used to play basketball at the old church across the street, skate in the parking lot on the other side of the street, went to elementary school a few blocks away and middle school down the street.
my father still lives two streets over and my new gf's mom lives four streets down (we went to elementary and middle school together), my aunt live crawling distance, as well..
why does this stuff happen?

Especially one that may already be unstable.
I've never seen anything like this happen, though I do know someone who commited suicide after the birth of her child.
