Horrors! HOW DARE THEY!

Just when you thought things had stabilized a bit... they
stab you in the heart.

Demand is down, so they raise the price. Schweet. Wait a
minute, that sounds like the electric company, 'You used less
electricity so we need to charge you more per unit as a
result.' 'Supply and demand, never heard of it, we are a
fixed production commodity.' I'd make up a word like
'voodoo economics' but somebody more clever than I already
came up with the idea.

I got to go with Corona on this one.

I wonder if this is affected at all by the hops shortage a few years back.

I guess they figure their products' demand has a low price elasticity.

I refuse to be concerned, this will not affect my life in anyway.

I have always felt that when it comes to the things (as opposed to the PEOPLE, another issue entirely! ) that bring me happiness in my life that matter, be it basses, amps, coffee, food, ice cream, or BEER, it is better to have what is good over what is cheap.

Life is too short for horse pee with bubbles in it.

Therefore, whatever the purveyors of swill at Anheuser-Busch, MillerCoors, Heineken, or Corona want to charge for their sub-standard product, I will continue to pay the going price for actual BEER, something that none of the above produce.

All I can say is that I for one am glad that the brewers around the world really have no idea how much we beer drinkers would actually pay, for our suds!

The Europeans tell us that it's beer, so it MUST BE TRUE!

But, if the lower end of the market goes up, (like, an
Ibanez for example), doesn't the prudent high-end producer
take note of the fact and plan his pricing strategy
accordingly?

Reading this thread has made me crack open a bottle of my beloved Trois Monts beer from Flanders - 26oz of 8.5% ABV beery goodness.

Mmmmm....

And isn't the product still worth the cost, up to a point? At which time lagging sales will "correct" any overpricing issues in time?

Bottom line, I'd rather be able to afford ONE actual beer than a case of the junk these corporate idiots produce and CALL beer.

They noted production was off 1.5%. That's a lot of horse
pee.

Of course, what do you trade down to? Shudder!

Please raise that bottle in my memory one time as you go...later, I will do the same for you - as yet, I have not decided what the gesture will be returned with, but I will be certain to use an appropriate brew.

Maybe they'll go "green" and start truly recycling?

...I doubt anyone would notice...

Give me one "good" something over a truckload of "poor" quality anything.
