Horsey! Horsey! Horsey! The Kentucky Derby, 2008

I love watching The Kentucky Derby; there's so much electricity in the air! Know what I mean?

So, which horse do you like?

Have you ever been to The Derby in person?

This is just for fun; no monetary bets, please.

I'll post my pick later.

Mike

I'm not into horse racing but I usually watch it. It looks great on the big TV

I hate to say it, but the horse-race thing just never has thrilled me. All this buildup for a race that lasts two minutes? And people complain about Super Bowl hype.

The parties here are crazy for Derby. (I live in Louisville) I put down $6 for Z Fortune to win.

Anybody going? I got a buddy who's house burned down last week, and he is living in the hotel 21 C. I case you didn't know this is the hotel that pretty much all celecrities go too. He is so freaking lucky!

I'm going with Big Brown as well. I believe the owners are from New York.

Only about 5 hours to go!

If a young horse gets laryngitis, and can't speak, do we say it's a little hoarse?

I live less than a mile from Churchill Downs and have never even been to a race. But a lot of people seem to dig it, and it keeps the local gvmt interested in beautifying our neighborhood, go I say rock on.

I love going to the track. It's about 30 minutes from my house. My dad went out yesterday for the Oaks it it was great for him. I have never been to any big races, just random ones I go to with friends. I have my dad bet for me since I'm too young. It's so fun in the infield.

Very cool, Chris. You too, metallicafan18.

Something we have in common: you're less than a mile from Churchill Downs, and I'm less than a mile from Aqueduct Racetack.

It's just about an hour 'till post time; anyone else wish to pick a winner?

I'm going to a friend's house to watch it; he has a giant TV.

Mike

Yeah, that's what happened.

What a crying shame.

It was actually after the race. She came in second, but as the jockey started to pull her up after she crossed the line, both of her front ankles suffered compound fractures. They euthanized her right there on the track.
