How about guilty pleasure movies?

The best and worst movie thread made me wonder: What about movies that you love, but are kind of embarassed to admit that you even saw them?

What are yours?

The first ones I think of are...

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension
Rustler's Rhapsody
UHF

And then there are some that you totally dig, but when you tell people about them they just look at you blankly. A lot of those are old cable movies, for me.

Gotham (Virginia Madsen as the sexiest/creepiest ghost, ever)
Cast A Deadly Spell (twice! once with Dennis Hopper as Det. H. P. "Phil" Lovecraft, and before that with Fred Ward in the same role)
Miracle Mile (best accidental doomsday show ever)

What are yours?

Mortal Kombat. I know it's a terrible movie by most people's standards (including my own), but it has a certain amount of nostalgia value for me, as I grew up with the games. Plus, the fight scenes were, at the very least, competently done (my favorite being Scorpion vs. Johnny Cage) and that's not something that can be said for all tournament fighting game adaptations.

The movie series that actually comes to mind when I saw this thread was the Ice Cube movies Friday After Next, Next Friday, etc... always watch them midway when on TV- don't really get old to me either.

I don't know if this is a guilty pleasure or not, but when I was a wee lad of ten my folks took us to the drive-in and we saw a movie called The Long Ships, a Viking adventure movie starring Richard Widmark and Sidney Poitier. I remember being completely captivated by this movie, high adventure with plenty of action, perfect for a young lad! Afterwards I watched it on TV whenever it came on, but I havn't seen it since the late 70s. I should see if I can get it on DVD.

I don't feel guilty about them, but there movies that would make people go 'waaah!' if I told them.

The Notebook and the Princess Diaries. Two damn good movies.

Anything with Patrick Swayze. It's hard to admit, but if Roadhouse, or Next Of Kin are on, I'm watching them.

I also love John Waters.

Anything that says Scifi Original on it.

Oh and

I am in no way guilty of the crappy movies I enjoy, more often then not they are a hell of a lot better than the new trash hollywood is pumping out with he same 10 terrible actors over and over and over again.

Next of Kin I can pass on, but I always stop flipping channels for Roadhouse. I feel dirty.

A couple of quotes you may recognize:

"It must pop, pop, POP!"

"You're such a poet!"
- "Don't you know it..."

I've got a few of my own as well....
