How to add Prefix to all files in a folder

Hey guys, need a bit of help.


I am attempting to reorganize my music folders, but now I remember why I've given up before .

I want to add a simple "1." or "2." (ect) in front of the file name to notate disc number so that they play back in that order by default.


How can I add a numerical prefix to every file in a folder? Anyone know a CMD or freeware for doing this?

old dos command. go into the directory and type.....

ren *.* *.(your desired extension)
