the score reports on the latest test date for the ACT just came online this week. so how did you all do?
Personally, I'm very happy about a composite of 33, with a perfect score on the science section. Yippee!

I realize it can be fun to talk about your scores (believe me I was there) but as soon as you get into college, no one really cares...

hey man, how do you check your scores online, and are you talking about April 12th?

I just took it yesterday as well as part of the PSAE tests.

About a decade ago, I think I got a 25 or 26. It was enough to get a decent scholarship. Not to bash anyone who got a high score, but I knew more than a few people who were 30+ dudes that fell short in college because college is much harder with much more work and they weren't getting the instant gratification. Although a few didn't go particularly far because they had the ability to literally do anything, but didn't know how to choose.

True, but not always the case.

Depends on your HS programming. I went to a school that had an international diploma program. That was hard... college on the other hand, is quite easy. If you went to a typical public school, best of luck in college. If you went to a school with legitimate programming (read: not designed in America) you'll probably be fine.

Unless you're doing premed. Then it's a bitch anywhere.

Isn't everyone and their cousin pre-med or pre-law that first semester? Second semester is always a different story, eh?

Haha yes. Then the few left after college chem hit orgo and bio in the same semester and really get it on. Good ol' weeder courses.

Luckily I'm a music major so most of my classes are pretty easy, and I sprinkle in some academic courses every semester to add some flavor.

That was me. Actually, I got good grades in high school without studying, and as a result, I never developed good study habits. That changed pretty quickly in college, but it still took me a couple semesters to get on the bus.

Simply choosing what seemed interesting and challenging kept me out of this rut.

umm... it only goes up to 36 (when I took it about a decade ago it topped out at 34... I got a 31, but I accidentally slept through one of the science sections until the "5 minutes left alarm" went off because I forgot about the test and stayed out all night the night before... I got home about 30 minutes before my buddy showed up at my house to head to the testing site LOL).

p.s. I dropped out a year later out of boredom, lack of direction, and formal education burnout.

I made that up, we don't do tests like that in Canada. Although I did drop out after my first year.

I did the April 12th test and got a 28. All of a sudden getting into college doesn't seam so daunting anymore.

I also now know i'm really bad at grammar.

lol, didn't notice you were in Canadia. How do they test aptitude up there? Do they make you list every Stanley Cup winner in order or something?

It's been many years for me since the ACT. I took it one time, didn't study, and got a 29. My girlfriend (who was VERY competitive) studied for months and only got a 19. The second time, she got a 23. Her grades were always better than mine, but she just couldn't handle the pressure.

As I recalled, she tried to slap me after I told her my score. I don't think I dated her too long after that........

That on the other hand, was not me. I never studied in college either.

I probably would have done better than the 3.3gpa I graduated with if I had bothered to though...

Why would you need to test aptitude? You get in to University based on your high school marks and nothing else. No SATs not HGNUBVs ect. There really is no point in the standardized tests.
