I am making my own profile thing(I don't know what to call it.) on Ventrilo and it asks for my port number but I don't know what it is. So how can I find my port number?

Are you trying to connect to a server? The port # is only need when connecting to a server.

Umm Ventrillo is a program for transmitting Voice over IP. You do not need a port # to create an account, only connect to a server.

The site shows their IP address, not the one they would need to connect to the server in which they want to communicate. Or have I missed something?

Yes, and I google'd it and I checked Yahoo Answers. That only made me more confused.

Yes, it does, but username n/a shouldn't need a port # to create a user name. They only need it to connect to a server. I am assuming since they don't know what a server is or it was out of context or whatever reason they probably don't the have the required hostname/IP or port # provided to connect to a server.

While you are on the Ventrillo website, open a command prompt and type NETSTAT to see all the open ports on your PC. Ventrillo will be on that list, and it will show the port number you are using.

NJL did provide a helpful link that tells you what port number to use, 3784.
