Sign in to disble this ad
We need something that will tell everyone that anything they use on the computer is "private property" and can't be shared/distributed, etc. for legal reasons. (we work with law enforcement data)
1. How can we get a pop up message for this for when you log in (and even better).... 2. have it come up every time even if you have no password/login?
We want the message on all machines, sensitive data or not. Some have this data and require a password, some have no data and require NO password, but we still want the message on there.

No username.
No password.
No access to anything. |

Longhair: Everyone signs a waiver, but the legal guys apparently want this pop up as well to cover some other bases.

If everybody signs a waver, there is no need for a popup to cover other bases because they would be added to the waver as needed. That is of course if the legal department isn't like their computer department |

We deal with sensitive data, but don't require passwords. |

If there isn't a password however you will have to do the registry hack/change outlined when you search for each machine involved. |

I really advise you to pick up some very rudimentary IT knowledge before you proceed much farther in your chosen job. |

Our secretary just emails people about office supplies and surfs the internet with no access to our servers. Developers WORK with the data at all times. We still want the message(s) on both. That specific enough?
It seems hard for computer people to answer a simple question without knowing why. You all could at least ASK why first if you must know.
Anyway, thanks to a couple for showing that registry edit. Looks like it's the right thing for us. |
