How did you come to know you are either a "Good" or "Bad" Person ? For me it was years of reflecting on my conscience and being honest with myself about my ethical inclinations.

In light of Scripture under the conviction of the Holy Spirit I was shown my hopeless, sinful condition.

By realizing people keep expecting good things from me, while I keep not satisfying these expectations.

So I'm a good-looking bad person.

I'm not a god-fearing person in the least, but I can be either when the occasion demands.

I took the square root of my sarcasm, multiplied it by the inverse of my inclination to use it and plotted this number on a circle with the radius equal to the number of times John Turner has considered banning me.

Next, I rolled a 12 sided die that I jacked from a small child. I added the resulting number of dots, gave the die back to him, counted how many minutes it took for him to stop crying and added those two numbers to the child's approximate age. I took this final value and plotted it on the aforementioned circle.

I then drew the secant line through the curve using these two final numbers as intersecting points. After deriving the length of that line, I then pretended to play that number on the Power Ball and lost.

The result? I'm not a gambler, so I must be good.

By realizing that the voice of my own conscience has often dictated that I take the moral high road, the more idealistic path, the best possible choice in any given situation...and that more often than not, my genuine desire has been to actually go that way - regardless of the consequences - even though it is usually the path of greater resistance. And by realizing through trial & error, as well as by experience, that following a path of personal righteousness brings a tranquility, peace of mind, and a deep spiritual satisfaction that far transcends any sacrifice necessary in order to achieve it.

If there is no God, does it matter?

I am shallow, selfish and morally bankrupt, but it's more than that.

I have done untold heinous deeds.

Quote:
Ay, that I had not done a thousand more.
Even now I curse the day--and yet, I think,
Few come within the compass of my curse,--
Wherein I did not some notorious ill,
As kill a man, or else devise his death,
Ravish a maid, or plot the way to do it,
Accuse some innocent and forswear myself,
Set deadly enmity between two friends,
Make poor men's cattle break their necks;
Set fire on barns and hay-stacks in the night,
And bid the owners quench them with their tears.
Oft have I digg'd up dead men from their graves,
And set them upright at their dear friends' doors,
Even when their sorrows almost were forgot;
And on their skins, as on the bark of trees,
Have with my knife carved in Roman letters,
'Let not your sorrow die, though I am dead.'
Tut, I have done a thousand dreadful things
As willingly as one would kill a fly,
And nothing grieves me heartily indeed
But that I cannot do ten thousand more.

I feel like I'm a good person because I almost always put others first.

Sometimes it even leads to me being scammed

The first time I played Dungeons and Dragons and had to choose my character's alignment.

But seriously, I don't consider myself in terms of good or evil.

Am I good or bad? I don't know... I guess if I'm trying to be objective here I'd like to think I'm a good person who does a lot of stupid, sometimes bad things.

I would weight myself about a 87.9% to the "good" side of the equation. I've been slipping a bit recently.

Where do you find a moral compass to gauge such a question? By the standards of: the titans of business, Ken Lay, Skilling, Mozila, I'm a saint; by my ex's, I'm not.

And if there are consequences for the way we live our lives, doesn't that deserve at the very least a modicum of serious consideration?
