How do I figure out what to do next with my career?

Sign in to disble this ad
As posted in an earlier thread, I will probably lose my job. I'm not sure that I want to stay in the same profession, there is now work anyway. I don't know what I want to do next....and more importantly, what career I can make a living at.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try This

Visit your local library or bookstore and go through this book:
http://www.jobhuntersbible.com/

The website, book, and exercises will help you figure YOU out.
Best of luck and, as I've told others:
Find out what you like or love to do that PAYS comfortably and do it.
You may decide to live with less to do what you love.
When you love what you do work is no longer "work".

Take some solace that you're living in a large city. Go ahead and update your resume without broadcasting it. And, you'll be equipped to get them out there if, and when it is necessary. And, remember, the cover letters that sound like a form letter with a different cos. name on top can work against you.

Hope you keep your current job for a long time...
