I was totally, emotionally devastated today. I don't want to describe the details. On top of that, I'm a Major Depressive, so this is not a good combination at all.
How do I get through tonight without doing something stupid? |

I'm not being funny, if you are depressed, the neurotransmitters released after orgasm can completely turn you around. You probably don't feel like it, but if you can, do it - someone recommended when I was down, and it worked.
Another good one is to go for a long run, exercise also releases lots of happy chemicals, and it will knacker you out and allow to sleep when you get home.
...or just get a friend round, and which a film or play some video games.
I hope you feel better. |

My tendancy is to immerse myself in something that forces me to focus on something other than what's causing me pain. Works for me, doesn't work for everyone. |

Even the bad times in my life were punctuated with multiple nights on friends' porches burning through a pack of cigarettes and learning to laugh that my situation.
I don't recommend the smokes, but hang out with a friend or friends.

One you've read before that you know you'll enjoy and can immerse yourself in for hours.

So, even though several of you thought it was a brilliant remark (go figure), I was at a bit of a loss because it's difficult to apply a witty rejoinder to what is essentially a non sequitur.

Take care.

To the OP: cheer up. Find something to take your mind off things. Pick up your bass, pick a Jaco song, and learn it inside out. |

How do I get through tonight without doing something stupid? | I know how you feel - been there many times in the last year or two. If you can't get a good friend to come round or go and see them, get on the phone to someone you trust that can make you laugh - preferably someone you haven't spoken to in a while so you can catch up. A book is a good alternative if you can't get anyone or don't want to bother anyone (they really won't mind being bothered though) so long as you have something fun to read.
Make sure you don't have drugs or alcohol around the place. It'll only prolong the problems.
I'd suggest you have some background noise like the TV on quietly. Taking a shower is a good way to relax and calm down.
I'll post anything else I think off...remember it'll all seem insignificant in a few days or weeks and you'll wonder what you got so bothered about when you look back. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
