I assume (with the requesite opportunity for ass/u/me-ing) that the OP is referring to a member of the opposite sex (or whichever you are attracted to ) rejecting your advances, correct?
I have a philosophy that attends to this:
Women (or men if that is your thing) are like fire hydrants, if you can't get "water" out of this one, there is another one at the next corner, so move on until you find one that works for you.
---------------------------------------------------------
Now, don't analyze this to infer that anyone of any gender is to be "objectified", just that if someone doesn't want you, then they aren't right for you, and you should accept that simple fact, and move forward instead of obsessing on that which you don't need in the first place - the thing/person/whatever you need is in THAT direction (points forward), not in THAT direction (points backward). Next. Life is short, don't waste time on what you cannot change, focus on what you can do.
I came to this via some pretty hard knocks, hopefully it will be of some help to someone else before they go through that.

Rejection from a band we just auditioned for, rejection from a girl we just hit on or our stomachs rejecting what we just shoved down our collective pie holes?
Three different scenarios and three different reactions.
a) the band thing? I just think of it as a professional decision on the band's part and i thank them for the opportunity, move on and go home and practice more .. ALWAYS try to be professional .. the only thing that travels faster than light is gossip
b) the girl thing? I don't have any sage advice for this scenario because i've been fortunate never to have had to ask a girl for a date as i'm the one that is asked .. seriously .. i've been very blessed in this matter
c) the lunch thang? you have an intolerance .. live with it
[elvis] Thank-yuh! Thank-yuh vurry much! [/elvis] .. and the crowd goes wild!!

| | That's the way uh huh uh huh I like it.. | | Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Robbinsville, NJ | | | Meh, I just post about on TB and let a bunch of utterly insane bass-players tell me how they handle it. I then take out the bits and pieces that are the easiest way out and yet somehow still relevant to my current situation and follow them as a self-crafted conglomeration of ideas, ignoring of course, any other potentially great advice that would work swimmingly but which would mean that I would have to take some initiative and control over my situation.
That and I use run-on sentences a lot.
And spell "a lot" right.
And use sentence fragments.
