^^ Darn you posted that as I did
Open the History pane from the browser window (little yellow star under the menu bar), browse to the Today section, and delete the pages you just checked out that you want to delete.
I'm not sure if this will delete the pages from the internet cache, but it will prevent browsing via the History.
If you are typing the sites into the address bar manually and you have the browser set up to remember the sites you type in you can delete them by typing part of the address, waiting for the window below to "automagically" pop up with the full address, hilighting it within the window and pressing delete. Or at least, I think it works. It's been so long since I've had to hide my internet footprint from prying eyes I don't keep track of the best ways to do it.
Another option would be to install another browser, search for what you want, and uninstall that browser again
But the best answer is if you don't want someone to find something on your computer, don't footprint it with the data in the first place.
