I have a slight "thing" when I am searching for the right words to say, I look around at times...I know it might come off as rude, and I am aware of it so I try to minimize it, but in turn it makes me tolerant when it happens to me.

I DO know the signs of deceipt tho, looking down to the right means ____ looking up to____ means _____...so I am aware.

Searching for answers it is common to look to the top left of your peripheral vision. However when someone doesn't look me in the eyes when talking to them I am instantly suspicious of them unless I'm standing beside them talking to them while we are looking at the same thing (i.e. a chick ) or if the person is wearing sunglasses.

I feel intimidating and empowered

But seriously I never really noticed anyone not looking me in the eye. Maybe because I'm not looking them in the eye or everyone I talk to does or I just don't care

Either way, for me, it's a non issue

I find it more creepy when someone locks eyes with me while talking and won't look away. Kind of like when a stranger stands just a little too close. Extra creepy if they don't blink.

Thinking out loud, searching for the right words, focusing on what you're talking about, that's all fine, but I find it insulting when it's incredibly clear the person talking to me is deliberately looking away from me and has no intention of doing otherwise. We have a guy at my work who does this to everyone in the plant, stares straight at the wall while talking to anyone... Drives me up the wall.

Depends on where else they're looking.

Which panel of Kings and Judges came up with the rule you're suppose to look someone in the eye when talking to them?

People who look at me while talking freak me out. It's rude to stare.

I don't make a big deal out of it, its actually creepy sometimes when they look you in the eye too much. I like eye contact about half of the time, or like make contact for a few seconds, talk about something and look away, then more contact, etc.

I prefer little to no eye contact ...but that's because it's rare for me to be talking to someone and not doing something else at the same time.

if you dont make eye contact for about 3/4 of the converstion you are gonna look like you have no self confidence...

its a big part of being a good listener...and all most people want is for someone to listen to them.... even if they are spurtin off at the mouth about somwthing they know nothing about...

some of us have a hard time looking other people in the eye a whole bunch. if someone is obviously not paying attention, that's irritating, if someone just has a hard time making eye contact, it's okay.
