| Personally I would save as a targa gif, rather than png. PNG's create huge file sizes, and to the eye generally aren't that much better looking than jpg. TGA does retain more quality than jpeg, however it does have a slightly, and I mean SLIGHTLY smaller filesize than .png format. Honestly though for the issue the op is having, any filetype would work. Have to keep in mind filesize of attachment though if the transmission method is e-mail. They still do apply file limits with some providers.
