How do you pronounce the word "bury"?

Do you pronounce the word "bury" so it rhymes with "hurry". Or do you pronounce it like "berry"? I'm not asking how dictionaries suggest the pronunciation, how do YOU say it?

I've heard it mostly one way, but I've been hearing more and more of the other way. I'm so confused . . .

You've been hearing it pronounced "berry"? That would be a first for me.

It might be 'burry' in the deep, dark, forbidden woods of West Virginia, but to the rest of the USA it's 'berry'.

I say it as "berry," but then again I end up saying a lot of things wrong with my accent and such.

However, there is a street in my hometown called Waterbury, I called it WaterBerry when younger, but started to call it Waterbury later on... and when referring to people that hang out there, they are water bugs xD

b(h)urry way seems like the proper way to say it, but it does not sound right to my ears. I never really hear anyone say it that way.

I have noticed that in my hometown people would say Dollar, but not always pronounce the R; I always say "dolla." After moving, I notice people here say it like dol-LAR. It aggravates me x(

Even in the deep southeastern U.S.A, it's sounds like "berry."

My ex-inlaws might have made it rhyme with "hurry," but they were slack jawed racist homophobic ignorant rednecks.

It's hard to pin it down, it's kinda halfway between "burry" and "berry" the way I pronounce it, the difference is subtle.

Yeah, I'd venture to guess most of the US will go "berry" on this one. You might get "burry" in the deep South or in parts of the far North. You might also get "bahy" in New England, but that's just a guess on my part.

In England, pronounced both ways, depending on meaning and dialect.

The place 'Bury' in Lancashire is pronounced to rhyme with 'hurry' by Lancastrians, but pronounced 'berry' pretty much everywhere else.

The verb 'to bury' is pronounced with the same variations.

At the risk of upsetting Mohawk, the scots pronounce it as some sort of weird hybrid between the two. But then that's true of their entire vocabulary.

Burr-e. I never thought of myself as a southerner but I suppose Maryland does run under the Mason-Dixon Line .

Blame it on the Hollywood and friends if You wish, but over here it's 'berry' as well.

I clicked the wrong option somehow... but for me, the 2nd option is what is closest to how I pronounce it.
