Really?

Rhymes with "honky." I haven't heard it any other way, personally...

Though my wife can't pronounce a short "O" in some cases. She says "hunk" instead of "honk"

I have never heard anyone say "Dunkey". At least, not here.

I can somewhat imagine a person with an Irish accent saying dunkey. Maybe like a hybrid of the two words.

Could be that she actually pronounces it correctly, and she's just pointing out hot guys to you while you're driving around.

I'd be inclined to believe this, if it weren't for the fact that it's usually used in connection with her road rage

How do you pronounce the word "douchebag"?

Is it "Dou-Che" Bag ? Or "Douche" but pronounced like "Tush"?

This is driving me crazy. Please help me to figure this out or I am going to shove bamboo shoots up my fingernails.

Hooked on Phonics certainly has not worked for a few people in this thread.

Dictionaries even them handy "pronunciation keys" . those are considered definitive of the vernacular at the time. Get aquainted, please.

Oh, and before someone asks.... Nuclear: it is pronounced Noo-clee-ar. Not Noo-quoo-lurr.

My former boss, a legit engineer, actually consistently pronounced it wrong. I used to want to punch him vigorously.

This is all the information you need to resolve the argument - complete with audio: Donkey - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Thank you Pilgrim, I was about to suggest online dictionaries have audio pronunciations. Bravo!
